RB Leipzig’s interim head coach Zsolt Löw responded to the media’s questions this morning as his side prepares to spoil the party on impending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
“It’s no secret that we weren’t happy with our performance against Frankfurt and that we were lacking in some areas.
Instead of analyzing it tactically again, we took a different approach: We declared a qualifying week, giving every player the opportunity to showcase their skills and prove whether they were ready to play in such a big game against Bayern.
That’s not to say that someone who doesn’t play hasn’t trained well. But it was definitely a factor that will heavily influence tomorrow’s starting lineup,” he explained.
Löw went on to say how he demands “desire to suffer” from his team and eagerness to inspire the fans against Bayern. He then offered a squad fitness update for Saturday’s clash.
“Willi [Orbán] continues to work on his comeback step by step. Peter [Gulácsi] is still being carefully built up after his head injury. Chad Bitshiabu serves his one-match suspension. Assan [Ouédraogo] is back fit and the same applies to Antonio Nusa,” Löw added.
