Bayern Munich’s former head coach Jupp Heynckes paid tribute to Thomas Müller in his latest interview with Abendzeitung.

Heynckes praised the 35-year-old’s ability, achievements, fitness and character across the years for the Bavarian club.

“What Thomas has achieved is absolutely insane. His special gift is his instinct for goal, an attitude that few are born with.

“Added to that is his exceptional fundamentals and endurance. He is incredibly resilient and hardly injured. He’s an exceptional footballer and also very committed to the team.

“In all the years I have never seen him in a bad mood or ill-tempered; he’s always relaxed and friendly. Positive, optimistic, original, funny, empathetic, authentic,” Heynckes added.

The 79-year-old, who coached Müller at Bayern over two stints from 2011-13 and 2017-18, can picture the player as a club representative in the future.

“Yes, in the commercial area. Thomas has a managerial profile, hardworking, clever. He understands so much about football and gives intelligent answers,” he said.
