According to Ligainsider, Borussia Dortmund are “seriously pursuing” a move for Mainz midfielder Nadiem Amiri.
The 28-year-old German international is reportedly a “top transfer target” for BVB head coach Niko Kovač.
Talks between Dortmund and Amiri’s management have been ongoing for several months and are said to have intensified in recent weeks.
However, a quick agreement appears unlikely. The report claims that Dortmund are aiming to secure the deal for around €25 million, while Mainz are holding out for a fee in the region of €30–35 million.
Amiri has been a standout performer for Mainz since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in January 2024, playing a key role in their midfield.
Should Dortmund complete the signing, it could impact the futures of Julian Brandt and Pascal Groß – both of whom have similar profiles. Ligainsider suggests the club would be open to offers for either player if Amiri arrives.
