AS Monaco have officially confirmed the signing of Eric Dier on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old centre-back will join the Ligue 1 side on a three-year deal after his contract with Bayern expires at the end of the season.

Earlier this month, Bayern announced that Dier would not be extending his stay with the club.

“We had discussions with Eric about a new contract. He told us that he doesn’t want to extend and will leave us. He’s a great guy. We had a great time together,” said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund.

Dier joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2024 and has since made 47 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Amid an injury crisis in defence, Dier played a key role in the latter half of the season, starting Bayern’s last 10 matches across all competitions.
